All Things Jeep

A little information about choosing the right tires for a jeep!

A lot of people who have jeeps may ask what's the right tire to put on the jeep. Well there are a few things to keep in mind before choosing the perfect choice. Depending on what type of tire is chosen, it's going to affect the gas mileage of the vehicle. It will also affect wear and tear on the parts and most of all the wallet, so choosing the right tire is crucial. A lot of people really want big tires, perhaps 40 inch ones. Those size of tires works great if you're going to use the jeep strictly for off road use. However the reality is, most of the time, the jeep will be used for more common pursuits like commuting to work, or taking care of errands. If the jeep has 40 inch tires on it, that will greatly affect the gas mileage and those tires are way too expense to wear out during every day commutes.

The most common size tire on a jeep or the stock size is a 255. Those first 3 numbers refers to the width of the tire in milometers. The next set of numbers is a 75, that 75 tells us how tall and narrow the jeep tire is. The next thing in the list of numbers on the jeep tire could be an R. That means the tire is a Radial, and the last 2 numbers may be a 17, that would be the wheel size. If you're not planning on making any kind of suspension modification or tire size changes to your jeep, a good size would be the normal size or stock size of 255. If you are planning on doing any type of off road activities, the tire size will have to be changed. To know more click this all things jeep.
